After the assault on Queens, Filmmaker Dwayne Buckle, he was rushed to St. Vincents Hospital nearby, he was listed in critical condition with lacerations to his kidney and stomach, he underwent emergency surgery. He also had injuries to his arms and eye. The lesbian culprits were captured minutes later as witnesses identified the suspects who were celebrating their victory at a nearby McDonald’s restaurant ( some reports say they were caught in front of The Pink Pussy Cat, a neighborhood gay club).
The women had no injuries, not a single scratch on their bodies, yet when The Daily News interviewed one of the girls after the incident, she was quoted as saying Dwayne Buckle committed a ” Hate Crime” against them.
The Daily News, however, reported that one of the women, while being led out of the 6th Precinct headquarters in the West Village, alleged that it was Buckle who spit first, threw a cigarette at the women, and yelled homophobic slurs. The woman said the incident had been an anti-lesbian “hate crime.”

After the alleged “Hate Crime” on the girls, as reported by The Daily News, various Gay Advocates, without seeing any evidence, or hearing Dwayne Buckle’s side of the story began their propaganda campaign against Dwayne Buckle.
One of the first of such organizations is a Large New Jersey based group Garden State Equality, headed by Steven Goldstein.
